PVR Cinemas

PVR Cinemas is situated over in Karve Nagar at number 23. If you come by, you’ll see the big signs, but behind those is just us trying to keep the place running. A lot of the work is just cleaning up popcorn from under the seats and making sure the projectors are actually working. It gets really loud when a big movie is playing, you can feel the bass through the floors in the lobby. We spend a lot of time standing behind the counters or walking through the halls with flashlights. It’s a bit of a strange job because you’re always in the dark or under bright lobby lights. The weekends are always a bit of a mess with so many people coming through, but we just deal with it one show at a time. The Karve Nagar location is a good one, we get a lot of students and families from around the neighborhood. Sometimes the ticket machines act up and we have to explain it to people waiting in line, which isn't always fun. We just keep things moving as best as we can. It’s not just about the movies, it’s about the floors being clean and the lights being on. We’ve been at this spot for a while and we know the building inside and out, from the snack bar to the exit doors.
