People have been coming to this spot on J M Road for a long time now. It’s a busy part of the city, and you can always hear the traffic outside, even when a play is going on inside. Most days start early for us. We have to check the stage and make sure the seats are mostly clean before the first crowd shows up. Sometimes there’s music, other times it’s a serious drama, or maybe just a local meeting. The green rooms stay pretty cluttered with costumes and makeup kits left behind by the performers. We see all kinds of people, from older folks who’ve been coming here for decades to students just passing by on their way to Fergusson College. It gets a bit chaotic during the big festivals, but that’s just how things are around here. The building itself has its quirks, like a door that squeaks or a light that needs a bit of a tap sometimes. We don't spend much time worrying about the fancy stuff. We just focus on getting the doors open and letting the artists do their thing. It’s a solid part of the neighborhood, and it feels right being here among all the shops and trees. The tea stall nearby usually has a line, and you can smell the snacks while you wait for the doors to open. It’s just a normal day at Bal Gandharva Rangmandir, really.
