Down in Chinchwad East, at Plot No Gp 193 in the G Block, is where you’ll find Novel International School and Junior College of Science and Commerce. It’s quite a long name, but we’re a fairly straightforward place. Since we handle both school-age kids and college students for science and commerce, the building stays busy from early morning until late afternoon. Pune can be a hectic city, and Chinchwad has its own pace with all the industries around. We’ve got a mix of students here, some focused on their board exams and others just starting out in primary. The corridors are usually full of teenagers talking about their next class or where they're going to eat. We have the labs for the science students and classrooms for everyone else. It’s a big concrete structure that’s seen a lot of students pass through its doors over the years. Our staff rooms are always cluttered with papers and books because there’s always something to grade. We don't spend much time on fancy talk; we just focus on getting the curriculum finished and making sure the students show up. It gets a bit dusty with the construction nearby, but that’s just Pune life. We’re just a local institution trying to give the kids in this part of town a place to get through their studies without any unnecessary complications.
