We are situated on Paud Road in the Kothrud area of Pune. This part of town has changed a lot over the years, becoming very crowded and full of students from all over. Our campus is spread across a hilly bit of land, so there is a lot of walking up and down slopes to get to different buildings. The traffic on Paud Road is almost always heavy, especially during the morning and evening rush hours. You can hear the constant hum of buses and bikes from most of the classrooms throughout the day. We have a lot of old trees on the grounds that provide some much-needed relief from the afternoon sun. The canteen is usually the busiest place on campus, full of people grabbing a quick vada pav or a cup of tea between their schedules. The buildings are a mix of older stone structures and some newer additions that have been built more recently. It feels very much like a typical Pune neighborhood, with small shops and eateries just outside the main gates. We spend a lot of time in the labs or sitting on the benches under the trees when the weather is nice. It’s a busy place with people always rushing somewhere with rolls of drawings or bags full of books. We don't have many fancy facilities, just the basic things we need to get through our work. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s just life here.
