Khunte Mandap Decorators has been around the Aundh area for quite a long time now. If you are familiar with the old Octroi Naka, you have probably passed by our place without thinking much about it. We are mostly busy with the heavy stuff like iron poles, big rolls of cloth, and stacks of plastic chairs. It’s not a very fancy business, just honest work helping people set up for weddings or local community festivals. My cousin and I run the daily operations here. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks. The weather can be a real pain sometimes, especially when the monsoon hits and we have to worry about the fabrics getting damp. We don't really have a big office with air conditioning. It is more of a warehouse where we keep all our supplies organized. When someone needs a mandap, they usually just drop by and tell us the date and how many people they expect. We figure out the rest from there. Some of our decorative pieces are a bit older, but we keep them painted and looking okay. We just want to make sure the structures are safe and the seating is comfortable for the guests. It’s a lot of manual labor and long hours during the peak season, but we have been doing this for years and know the routine well. We don't do much advertising because most people in Aundh already know where to find us when they have a function.
