Our place, Dalal Devichand D Pagariya & Sons, is tucked into the busy part of Market Yard on S C Road 97. If you’ve ever been down this way in the morning, you know how chaotic it gets with the trucks and the laborers moving bags around. We’ve been operating out of this same spot for a long time. It’s a family-run thing, started by the elders and now we just keep the gears turning every day. The office has old wooden desks and stacks of ledgers that seem to grow every week. We don’t really do anything flashy. It’s mostly about taking orders, checking what comes in to see if it is okay, and making sure the accounts stay straight. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it’s home to us. We know almost everyone on this stretch of the road. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when it’s quiet, which isn't often. You get used to the smell of the market and the constant shouting of prices. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website. It’s just us answering the phone and writing things down in the books. Being at number 97 means we see a lot of foot traffic, mostly people looking for specific supplies. We just try to keep things moving without too much fuss or extra talk. It is just the way we have always done it.
