Ashok Restaurant

Our restaurant is located at 418/19 Somwar Peth in Pune. We are right next to the Samarth Police Station, which is a good landmark if you're trying to find us. The area is quite old and the streets are very narrow around here. We’ve been in this same spot for a long time. It’s a small place, nothing too big. We have about six or seven tables. Most of our customers are people who work in the nearby shops or live in the buildings around the Peth. We serve basic meals like rice, dal, and some vegetable dishes. My brother is the one who does most of the cooking in the back. I sit at the front and take the orders. It’s a loud place because we have the kitchen right there and the sounds of the street come inside. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, maybe just a calendar and a small shrine for prayers. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when it rains heavily in July, so we have to move the tables around. We don't do any home delivery or anything like that. People just come in, eat their food, and leave. It’s a very simple way of doing things. We know most of the people who come here by their names and what they like to eat. It feels more like a neighborhood kitchen than a business. We don't have a website. We just open the shutters every morning and start the work.
