Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya Higher Secondary School

You can find our higher secondary school at No 44 on Lally Tollandal Street in Pondicherry. It is right in the middle of town, so it is a very familiar spot for people living here. The school building is quite old and has that traditional feel that you find in many parts of Pondicherry. We have a lot of students in the higher secondary grades, so things stay pretty busy from morning until evening. The classrooms are filled with the usual desks and benches, and we have blackboards that have seen a lot of chalk over the years. The street outside is often busy with traffic, but once you are inside the school gates, it feels a bit more contained. We have a dedicated group of teachers who have been part of this school for a long time. We focus on the regular subjects and preparing the students for their final exams. It’s a lot of hard work for them and for us. We don't have any of those modern fancy campus features like some of the new private schools. We are a traditional school with a long history in the town. During the break times, the students gather in the small open areas or chat in the hallways. It’s a very normal, everyday school atmosphere. We don't put out brochures or do much promotion. People know who we are because we’ve been on Lally Tollandal Street for so long. We just continue with our work of teaching the local youth every year.
