New Land English High School

New Land English High School is situated at No.11 Bajanai Koil Street in Villianur which is a part of Pondicherry. It’s a local school that has been serving the families in this neighborhood for a good number of years. The building is right on the street so you can hear the sounds of the town all day while the classes are going on. We have the standard classrooms and a small office where the administrative work gets handled. The kids come from the surrounding streets in Villianur and you see them every morning in their neat uniforms walking to the gate. It’s an English medium school so that’s what the teachers focus on during the lessons. We have a mix of staff some who have been here forever and some who are newer but everyone just gets on with their tasks. There isn't much room for a big field but the students make do with the courtyard for their activities. During the summer it gets quite humid because we are in Pondicherry but the sea breeze helps a little bit if you’re in the right room. It’s a plain and simple school without any big pretensions. We just open the doors every morning and the teachers work hard to get through the lessons. People in the 605110 area know us as the place where their children go for their high school years. It is a busy little street but once you get inside the building everything is focused on the books.
