Arul Perunchothi Vallalar English School

Setting up Arul Perunchothi Vallalar English School on the Main Road in Managalam Post was a big step for this area. We are right there in Villianur, and being on the main road means there is always something going on outside our front door. Pondicherry can be a busy place, and our little corner of it is no different. You see the buses and the bikes going past all day while the kids are inside working on their English. It’s a bit noisy, but we’ve all gotten used to it over the years. The school itself is a practical building. We don't have much in the way of decoration, just the stuff the students need for their classes. We spend a lot of time making sure the classrooms are ready and the lessons are planned out. It's a lot of work for the staff here, but it's what we do. People from all over Managalam know where we are. If you follow the road through Villianur, you can't really miss us. We have been here through many seasons, through the heat and the monsoon rains. Sometimes the power goes out and we just keep the doors open for light. It's not a fancy life, but it's a good one for the people who work here. We just want to make sure the children who come through our doors get their lessons done and go home safe to their families in the evening. It is the routine we know best.
