Achariya Bala Siksha Mandir

Achariya Bala Siksha Mandir is situated on Fishing Harbour Road in Pondicherry. Being so close to the harbor, you can often smell the salt in the air, and it gets quite humid during the day. The school isn't very far from the water, and the neighborhood is always active with people going to and from the docks. Our building has been here for some time, and it has that classic Pondicherry look to it. Inside, it is just a bunch of classrooms filled with wooden desks and benches. We have a small area for the younger kids to play, and the older ones usually hang out in the corridors during their breaks. The office is right by the entrance, and there’s usually a stack of notebooks waiting to be corrected on the principal's desk. We don’t have central air conditioning or anything like that, just big fans that hum all day long. The staff is a mix of people who have lived in Pondy their whole lives. It’s a very local feel here. Parents often stop by on their scooters to drop off their children or chat with the teachers at the gate. It’s a bit of a crowded street, especially when the fishing boats are coming in, but we like the location. It’s a simple place for learning where things aren't over-complicated. We just stick to the basics and keep the school running smoothly for the families in the neighborhood.
