Peoples Park High School & College

Down at No 20 on Villianur Road, you’ll find Peoples Park High School & College. We’re tucked away in Karikallampakkam, which is a bit of a quiet corner of Pondicherry. The place is a mix of high school students and those finishing up their college years, so the age range is pretty broad. It’s a large building, and there is always something going on in one of the hallways. We have been here for a while now, and many people in the village know us. The classrooms have big windows to let the breeze in, which is nice during the hotter months. We don't have fancy air conditioning everywhere, just fans and open doors. The students stay busy with their books and their exams. It’s a practical place, really. We focus on getting the work done. You see the students walking down the road in their uniforms every morning. It feels like a big family sometimes because everyone knows everyone else’s business in a small place like this. We have a small canteen where people grab a bite. It’s not five-star food, but it fills the stomach. The campus stays active until late afternoon when everyone heads home. Pondicherry has a lot of schools, but we just try to do our part here in Karikallampakkam. It’s a steady, reliable spot for the local kids to learn. We've seen many graduates move on to bigger things from here.
