Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya

Out on Mathoor Road, near the university area in Pondicherry, you’ll find Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. It’s a bit of a trek from the main part of town, but that means it’s a bit more peaceful out here than in the city. We’ve got a lot of space for the students, and the campus feels quite open compared to the crowded streets in the center. We deal with students from all over, and it's always interesting to see how they settle in. It’s a busy place with a lot of different things happening at once. Some days it feels like we’re just managing the crowd, but we usually get everything sorted by the time the first bell rings. The staff here mostly live nearby or commute from Pondicherry. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles, just the standard classrooms and a big outdoor area. Sometimes the monkeys from the nearby trees come onto the grounds, which keeps things lively for the kids. We focus on getting the work done and making sure the students have what they need for their exams. It isn't a place with a lot of luxury, but it’s solid. People around here know us as the school out by the university. We just keep our heads down and work. It’s a long day for everyone, but seeing the students head home at the end of the week makes it feel like we're doing okay for the community.
