If you walk down Hashimpur Road in Tagore Town, you will find us at 27B. It is a part of Allahabad that has a lot of old houses and trees. Our building is a bit older too, but it serves its purpose for the students who come here to learn nursing and paramedical work. There are usually a lot of bicycles parked out front during the day. Inside, the hallways are narrow and the rooms are filled with desks and some medical equipment for practice. It smells a bit like floor cleaner most of the time. The students are usually busy with their books or practicing how to take blood pressure in the lab rooms. We have a small area where people can sit during their breaks, but most students just hang out near the entrance or go to the small tea shop down the street. The staff here has been around for years, so we all know how the building works, like which doors stick when it rains. Tagore Town is a relatively calm area, which is good for studying. We don’t have fancy signs or big posters outside. Just a simple nameplate at the gate so people know they have reached the right spot. Every evening, we lock up the gates and the road gets quiet again. It is just a regular place where people come to study and get their work done.
