Parvati Vidyapeeth U.M.V

Parvati Vidyapeeth U.M.V is located in Puray Surdash, over in the Bahadurpur area of Jhunsi, Allahabad. Since Jhunsi is across the bridge, it feels a bit different from the main city. The school is set on a decent bit of land, but it's mostly just dirt and some patchy grass where the kids play during their break. The building itself is a solid structure, but it’s seen a lot of monsoons and the paint is fading in some spots. We have students coming in from all the nearby villages in Bahadurpur. Most of them walk or come on cycles, which they park in a big messy pile near the entrance. Inside, the classrooms are high-ceilinged to keep the heat away, but it still gets stuffy in June. We have the usual blackboards and some old posters about science and history on the walls. The office has a heavy wooden desk and a lot of cupboards filled with old records that we never seem to throw away. It’s a quiet area for the most part, except for the birds and the occasional tractor passing by on the road. We don't have fancy uniforms or air conditioning. It’s just a place for education where the day follows the same rhythm it has for years. We show up, we teach, the kids play, and then everyone heads home before the sun goes down over the river.
