Govt. Girls Inter College

The Govt. Girls Inter College in Katra is one of those old-fashioned institutions in Allahabad. It’s located in a very busy part of the city, and the streets outside are always filled with people and rickshaws. The building itself has that government look to it, with high ceilings and thick walls that keep it somewhat cool even when the sun is beating down. We have hundreds of girls coming here for their secondary and senior secondary education. Since it’s a government school, we follow all the official rules and schedules. The classrooms are large, and we often have a lot of students in each one, so it can get quite noisy. We have a small courtyard where the students gather for their prayers and announcements. The furniture is old, and some of the desks have names carved into them from years ago. Being in the 211002 area, we are right in the middle of everything. The teachers have a lot of work to do, especially with the exams coming up. We don't have much of a budget for decorations or fancy equipment, so we just make do with what we have. It’s a place with a lot of history, and you can feel it when you walk through the corridors. We’re just here to make sure the girls get their schooling done so they can have a better future. It’s a busy, functional place that stays open through the heat.
