Link And Gear Academy is right on Naini Road, which stays busy with traffic almost all day long. We opened up here because it was a central spot where people could actually get to us without too much trouble. Inside, it is mostly classrooms and a lot of mechanical parts laid out on tables so people can see how they actually fit together. We don't really like the idea of just reading from books all day, so we have a lot of old gears and linkage systems that students can actually touch. The walls are a bit plain and the paint is peeling a little near the window because of the rain last year, but it doesn't bother anyone. We spend a lot of time talking about how machines work and trying to explain the logic behind the engineering. It is a noisy place sometimes because of the trucks outside on Naini Road and the sound of tools hitting the metal benches. My brother and I run the place and we usually have grease on our hands by noon. We didn't want a polished office environment because that isn't how real work happens. Most of the people who come here are looking to get their hands dirty and learn a skill that will help them get a job in the factories nearby. We just keep things simple and focus on the machinery we have in front of us.
