Shawarmaa Bite

If you're heading towards Phatak No-22 in Patiala, you'll find us pretty easily. We are quite close to the Khoobsurat Palace. Shawarmaa Bite isn't a large restaurant or anything like that, it's more of a place where you stop by when you're hungry and on your way somewhere else. The street can be a bit dusty and loud with the trains and the cars passing, but that’s just how this part of town is. We have our little counter set up and we spend the day preparing the meat and the sauces. Everything is done right there where you can see it. Most of our customers are young people or folks heading home after work. We see a lot of regulars who come by a couple of times a week. It’s funny how you start to remember what people like, maybe extra cream or no onions. We don’t have much in the way of seating, so most people just stand around and talk while they eat. It feels like a small community spot sometimes. The winters here in Patiala get quite cold, so the heat from the rotisserie feels good. In the summer, it’s a different story and we all just try to stay cool with the fans. We keep things moving as fast as we can because nobody likes to wait too long when they are hungry. It's just a simple job of feeding local people. We are just glad to have a spot to serve the neighborhood.
