Crystal Family Dhaba

Crystal Family Dhaba is right at the Darshani Gate in Patiala. We’re located just opposite the Shiv Mandir near Qilla Chowk, so it’s a very traditional part of town. This is a family-run place through and through. We don't have air conditioning or anything high-tech. It’s just fans and wooden tables. The 147001 area is usually buzzing with people going to the temple or the market, and we get our fair share of that foot traffic. We cook everything the old way, mostly because that’s the only way we know how. The kitchen is always hot and there’s always someone chopping onions or stirring a big pot. We don't have a printed menu that changes; we just serve what we’ve always served. Some people come here specifically because it reminds them of home. It’s not the cleanest place in the world—there’s always a bit of dust from the road—but we try to keep the tables wiped down. We don't have a website or even a phone that we answer all the time. If you want to eat, you just show up and find a seat. It can get crowded on festival days because of the temple across the street. We just keep our heads down and keep serving the food. It’s a simple life and a simple business for us here at the gate. We appreciate the regulars who keep us going.
