A Lounge

A Lounge is tucked inside Hotel Kings Retreat over at 16, Patiala. We’re right in the Nihal Bagh area, near the Baradari Garden and not far from the Circuit House. It’s a nice part of 147001, actually. We have a lot of locals who stop in when they’re walking through the gardens or visiting someone nearby. The space is set up so people can just sit and talk for a bit. We don’t play the music too loud because we know people come here to actually hear each other speak. Being part of the hotel means we get a mix of travelers and people who live right down the street. We try to keep things simple with the drinks and whatever snacks we have ready in the kitchen. The furniture has been around for a bit, so it feels comfortable, like sitting in a living room rather than a cold office. Most days it’s just the same few of us working behind the counter and making sure the tables are wiped down. We don’t have any big corporate goals or anything, we just like having the doors open and seeing who walks in. It gets a bit livelier in the evenings, but it never gets too crazy. It’s just a steady place to spend an hour or two if you’re in the neighborhood and need a break from the sun.
