Happy Days is right across from Punjabi University in Patiala, in that little area called Virk Market. Being on Rajpura Road means we see a lot of students every single day. Most of them come in between classes or after they’re done for the afternoon. It’s a pretty casual spot. We have some tables where people can just sit and talk for a while without being rushed. The place can get a bit loud when the university lets out, but that’s the vibe of this area. I started this place because I saw there wasn't really a simple spot for kids to hang out nearby. We serve basic snacks and drinks, nothing that takes too long to prepare. I usually keep an eye on things from the counter while my staff handles the orders. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the regulars don't seem to mind much. We’ve had the same furniture for years. It's a bit worn out but comfortable. Sometimes we stay open a bit later if there's a big event happening at the university. It’s not a fancy restaurant by any means. It’s just a local shop where you can grab a bite and relax. We know most of the faces that come through the door by now. It feels more like a community hub than a business most days. I hope the fan keeps working through the summer because it gets really hot in here.
