Budha Dal Public School

Our school sits right on the Lower Mall in Patiala, which is a very familiar spot for anyone living in this city. We have been here for many years, and the building has become a landmark for the local families. Being on the Lower Mall means we are right in the thick of things, which has its own charm and its own set of challenges. We aren’t trying to be a polished, corporate institution. We are just a local school that has seen generations of kids come and go through our front gates. The classrooms have a bit of history to them, and we try to keep everything running smoothly, from the old fans to the wooden desks. Life here is fairly predictable, following the rhythm of the school bells and the seasonal changes in Patiala. We don’t use a lot of fancy terminology to talk about education. We just focus on the subjects and making sure the students are actually paying attention. It’s a busy place, especially in the afternoons when the school day ends and the streets get crowded with parents and rickshaws. Our staff are regular people from the neighborhood who understand the local culture and the needs of the families. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, providing a place for children to learn and grow without making a big deal out of the whole process.
