Shree Om Hair Cutting

Shree Om Hair Cutting is located on Radha Krishna Marg in Rajendra Nagar. It’s a straightforward hair shop. We have the usual chairs, the big mirrors that have seen better days, and a few combs soaking in jars. The floor is almost never completely clean because as soon as we sweep, someone else sits down for a trim. That’s just the way it goes. We don’t do anything too fancy here. People come in, sit down, and tell us what they want. Mostly it’s just short back and sides or a quick shave. We have the radio playing in the corner, usually some old songs that everyone knows. Rajendra Nagar is a nice enough place to work. You see the same faces walking past the window every morning. Some of them stop in just to say hello or to check the cricket score. We use the old-fashioned razors and sharpen them on the leather straps. It’s a skill that takes time to learn properly. The shop smells like talcum powder and aftershave most of the time. We don’t have a waiting list or a phone for appointments. You just show up and wait your turn on the wooden bench. It’s been this way for a long time and we don’t see any reason to change it.
