Himanshu Hair Salon

We are located right on Station Road, which means we see a lot of people every single day. The shop is small and has those old-fashioned barber chairs that lean back. Most of our work is just standard haircuts and shaves for men who are on their way home from the train station. You can hear the trains whistling and the sound of the crowd outside while you are sitting in the chair. We keep a few spray bottles of water and some sharp scissors ready at all times. There is a large mirror in front and some posters of different hairstyles on the wall that have been there for years. I started working here a long while ago and I know most of the people who live in this neighborhood. We use the same kind of shaving cream and aftershave that my father used to use. It smells like lemon and talcum powder in here. The floor gets covered in hair quickly so we have to sweep it every hour or so. We don't take appointments; people just walk in and wait their turn on the wooden bench by the door. Sometimes we have the news playing on a small television in the corner. It is a noisy place but we like being in the middle of all the action on Station Road.
