Bhawna Beauty Parlor

Our parlor, Bhawna Beauty Parlor, is located in Ranakpur, specifically in the Purohito Ka Bas area. It’s a quiet part of the town compared to the main roads where the tourists go to see the temples. We set up shop here because we live nearby and wanted a place where local women could come without traveling far. The room we use is simple, with tiled floors that we try to keep clean, though dust always finds its way in from the street. We do basic things like facials, hair trims, and putting on mehendi for weddings. It’s not a big team, just me and a girl from the next lane who comes to help when things get crowded. We have a couple of old chairs that are still comfortable enough. On hot days, the small cooler we have struggles a bit, but it’s better than nothing. Most of our customers are neighbors we’ve known for years, so it feels more like a house than a business sometimes. We don’t really do any advertising, word of mouth is how people find us. Usually, someone sees their friend’s hair or nails and asks where they went, and that’s how we get new people coming in. We keep our tools in a small plastic cabinet and make sure everything is washed. It’s just a steady life here in the village, doing what we know how to do for the people we see every day.
