Jai Dilkhush Hair Salon

Our salon is located right by the Ranakpur Bus Stand in Sadri, so we get a lot of different travelers stopping in every day. They usually want a quick shave or a basic haircut before they have to catch their next bus to another town. Because of where we are, it is always a bit dusty inside from the buses pulling in and out of the station. We have a couple of old chairs and some big mirrors that have certainly seen better days over the years. The local men from around Sadri also come here to sit for a while and talk about the weather while they wait their turn. It’s a good place to hear the latest news from the village and the surrounding areas. I started this place because I liked the idea of being right where all the action is. It gets really hot in the middle of the day, so we keep the ceiling fan running at full speed all the time. I try to keep my scissors sharp and my combs clean for every customer. Sometimes someone comes in wanting a style that’s a bit fancy from a movie, but mostly it is just regular short cuts. We don't have any fancy air conditioning or expensive products on the shelves. It’s just a plain, honest shop for regular people who need a trim. I like the routine of the work and the people I meet. Every day is a bit different because of the new faces passing through.
