Working at Om Mukesh Hair Makers means I see a lot of people from the Bajarangwadi Police Line Road. It’s a specific kind of area, and you get a lot of people who are just passing through or who live in the quarters nearby. I usually start by setting out the combs and making sure the clippers are oiled. The name on the board says Om Mukesh, and that’s what everyone calls the place. The road outside can get a bit muddy when it rains, so I’m always mopping the floor to keep it looking decent. It’s not a big salon, just a practical place for a haircut. I don't really have a lot of help, so I do most things myself. The light in the shop is a bit yellow, but it works well enough for seeing what I’m doing. Sometimes I look out the window and watch the police vehicles or the local bikes go by. It’s a regular routine. I don't really bother with any marketing or anything like that. People just know where we are. If they need a hair maker, they come to Bajarangwadi. It’s simple. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and my hands just know the movements now. By the end of the day, the bin is full of hair and I’m ready to head home. It's a simple life, but it works for me.
