Nirmal Hair Drassers

If you ever find yourself walking through Sarafa Bazar, you’ll likely pass right by our shop. It is a busy market area, so there is always something going on outside the door. Our place, Nirmal Hair Drassers, has been part of this street for a while. It is a traditional kind of barbershop, nothing too fancy or complicated. We have the usual chairs, the big mirrors that have seen a lot of faces over the years, and the sound of scissors clipping away all day long. The shop is small, so when there are three or four people waiting, it feels quite full. We talk about the weather, the local news, or whatever is happening in the bazar while we work. It’s a good way to pass the time. Most of our customers are regulars who live nearby or work in the other shops in Sarafa Bazar. They don't want anything too crazy, just a clean cut or a shave so they look decent for work. We keep our tools sharp and the floor swept, though hair has a way of getting everywhere no matter how much you clean. Sometimes the tea man from next door brings us a cup while we are between customers. It is just a normal life running a shop here. We open early and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening and the street lights come on.
