New Sonu Beauty Parlor

New Sonu Beauty Parlor is right in the middle of Rani Pratap Bazar. It’s a very busy market area, and there is always a lot of noise from the shoppers and the vendors outside. We open up the shop every morning and the first thing we do is light a bit of incense and sweep the floor. The parlor is small, but we have enough space for a couple of chairs and a table for threading and facials. We have mirrors along the main wall so the ladies can see what’s being done. Most of our work is for the local women who live nearby or are out doing their shopping in the bazar. They come in for simple things like eyebrows, waxing, or getting their hair trimmed. We have a lot of different creams and lotions on the shelves, though they aren't arranged in any special way. It gets very hot in the afternoons, but we have a small fan that helps a bit. The walls are decorated with some old pictures of different hairstyles. We talk a lot with the customers about their kids and what’s happening in the market. It’s a very local vibe here. Sometimes the kids come in with their mothers and run around the small space. We’ve been part of Rani Pratap Bazar for years, and it feels like home to us. It’s not a polished place, but it’s where we do our daily work and see our friends.
