Mukesh Hair Salon

Mukesh Hair Salon is found at Ranakpur Akharia Chowk in Sadri. It is a busy little corner of the town where people are always passing through. Our shop is not very big, but we have enough room for a couple of people to sit and wait. We have some older mirrors and a few shelves for the powders and lotions we use. Most days are pretty steady with men coming in for their regular trim or a clean shave before an event. We know a lot of the families around here because we have lived in Sadri for a long time ourselves. The atmosphere is very casual and we don't worry about being too formal with anyone. Sometimes we have tea while we work and talk about the local news. The shop gets a lot of natural light from the front door which is nice during the day. We don't use any complicated booking systems, you just show up and wait your turn in line. It is a simple life running a salon in the chowk. We keep the tools clean and try to make sure everyone leaves looking a bit better than when they walked in. There is no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that hums all day long. It is a reliable place for the people who live nearby. We have been at this same spot for years and everyone knows where to find us. It’s just how it is.
