Mahalaxmi Salon General Store

This place is a bit of a mix. We have the salon chairs on one side and the general store stuff on the other. It’s located at Sarafa Bazar Jarda Bajar 10. It’s a busy spot. One minute I’m cutting someone’s hair and the next I’m selling a packet of biscuits or some soap. It keeps me on my toes. I started out just with the barber side, but people kept asking for things, so I added the shelves. It’s a bit crowded in here but it works. The smell of hair tonic mixes with the smell of the snacks. I’ve got mirrors on the walls and snacks in the glass cases. People like that they can get a shave and pick up their groceries at the same time. It’s a neighborhood spot where people stop to chat. I know most of the families around Sarafa Bazar. The floor needs a lot of sweeping because of the hair, and I have to keep the shelves tidy too. It’s a lot for one person sometimes, but I like the variety. You never know who is going to walk through the door. It’s just a simple shop where we do a bit of everything to keep the local folks happy. I keep the blades sharp and the biscuit jars full. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the street traffic but that is just part of the market.
