Simplex Steel Industries

Our unit for Simplex Steel Industries is Unit No-15 in Building No-2 at the Newan Industrial Estate in Vasai East. Specifically, we are in the Dhumalnagar area, which is pretty packed with all sorts of small factories. Working with steel is heavy and loud work. There’s always the sound of metal clanging or the hiss of a welding torch going off somewhere. The building isn't very new, so it has its quirks, like a leaky window when it rains really hard or a door that sticks. We spend our days moving steel sheets and rods around, which is quite a workout. It’s always warm in the unit because of the machinery and the general climate in Vasai. We don’t have a lot of office space, just a small corner with a desk and a couple of chairs for when someone comes to visit. Most of the time we are out on the floor making sure the cuts are right and the orders are stacked properly. The workers here are a good bunch and we mostly just get on with it without any drama. Transportation from Vasai can be tricky, so we try to get all our shipments out before the evening rush. It’s a straightforward industrial job, nothing more and nothing less. We just make the steel products and send them off to wherever they are needed next. It’s how we’ve always done it at Dhumalnagar.
