Durga Fabrication Work

Our shop is out at Plot No. T-34 in the MIDC Tarapur area. If you know the industrial zone, it's pretty much all factories and workshops around here. We do a lot of welding and metal cutting. There’s almost always the sound of grinding or sparks flying somewhere in the shop. It gets really loud, so we have to shout a bit to hear each other over the noise. We make gates, frames, and whatever else people bring us drawings for. Sometimes it's a simple repair, and other times it’s a big project that takes up half the floor space. The floor is concrete and always has bits of scrap metal scattered about until we sweep up at the end of the week. It’s hard work, and your hands get dirty within five minutes of starting the shift. In the monsoon, the roof leaks a little near the back door, but we just move the machines out of the way. We’ve been at this location for years now. Most of our regular customers just drop off their materials and tell us what they need done. We don't have a front office really, just a small desk in the corner with a calendar and some old invoices. It's just a regular fabrication shop where we get things built and sent out to the local sites. We keep a couple of stray dogs around the plot that we feed, and they mostly just sleep under the scrap piles.
