Our place is over at 32/33, Subodh Sagar, which is part of the industrial complex on Waliv Road. This is in Chinchpada, out in Vasai East. It is a bit of a trek from the main city, but this is where all the manufacturing happens these days. We make steel bars. The machines here are big and they run pretty much all day long. It gets loud, and the smell of grease and hot metal is something you just get used to after the first week. We have got a decent team of guys who know how to handle the equipment. Most of them live nearby or commute from the station. We don't have a lot of time for sitting around. When an order for steel bars comes in, we have to get the specs right and get it onto the truck. The roads around Waliv can be a bit rough, especially for the heavy loaders, so we spend a lot of time coordinating with the drivers. It is a practical business. We don't have a fancy website with stock photos. If you come by, you’ll see us in our work clothes, probably covered in a bit of grit. We just focus on making sure the bars are straight and the count is right. It’s a lot of physical work, but there is something good about seeing a finished stack of steel ready to go out. We just keep our heads down and focus on the production floor.
