Dewal Handicrafts

Our place, Dewal Handicrafts, is located in Soniya Vihar at C-2/566, Gali No.-8. We are in the Ii Pusta neighborhood, which is quite close to the Bangali Hospital. It is a very local, residential street, so our workshop is part of the daily life of the neighborhood. The space we work in isn't very big, and it’s actually part of a house. We don't have any big machines, so most of what we do is done by hand with simple tools. This means the work takes a lot of time and we have to be very careful. During the day, you can hear the sounds of the street, like vendors selling vegetables or neighbors calling out to each other. We keep our raw materials in a small shed at the back and do the main work in the front room. It gets a bit crowded when we have a lot of orders to finish, and we sometimes have to work late into the night. We don't have any fancy signs or a business office. People usually just know us because we’ve been here for so long. We take breaks to have tea with the neighbors and talk about what’s happening in the gali. It’s a very humble way of working. We aren't trying to become a huge company; we just like making our handicrafts and staying right here in Soniya Vihar where we belong. It is just honest, simple work that keeps us busy.
