Mas Indian Handicrafts

You can find us in B Block of the New Seelampur Market. Our shop is B 43, and it’s right in the thick of the market chaos. If you’ve ever been to Seelampur, you know it’s a place where everyone is selling something and the streets are always full of carts. We focus on Indian handicrafts, mostly the kind of things that require a lot of handwork. We have a few guys who have been with us for years, sitting and working on designs every day. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things all the way to the ceiling sometimes. It gets a bit hot in the summer because the ventilation isn't the best, but we have a couple of fans that keep the air moving. We get all kinds of customers, from shopkeepers looking to buy in bulk to regular people just wanting something nice for their house. We don’t have a website or a marketing team; we just rely on people liking what we make. Sometimes we run out of space and have to move boxes out onto the pavement just to move around inside. It’s a messy process making these things, but we enjoy seeing the finished product. Shahdara is a busy part of Delhi, and being in the market means we never have a dull moment. We just keep our heads down and do the work day after day to keep things moving along.
