Shiv Mishtan Bhandar

Shiv Mishtan Bhandar is located deep in the heart of Chandni Chowk at Kucha Ghasi Ram, number 375. If you’ve ever been to this part of Old Delhi, you know how crowded and narrow the lanes are. It’s a place where history is everywhere you look. We’ve been part of this landscape for a long time. Our shop isn’t easy to find if you’re not looking for it, but the locals know exactly where we are. We start our work while most of the city is still sleeping. The smells of the sweets being prepared fill up the small lane every morning. We don't use modern shortcuts; we do things the way they’ve always been done in this area. It’s a lot of manual labor. The shop itself is small and stays quite warm because of the cooking. We have people coming in from all over Delhi, not just the neighborhood. Some are tourists who got lost in the lanes, and others are regulars who have been coming for decades. We don't have a marketing strategy. We just rely on the fact that we've been here at 375 for so long. The energy of Chandni Chowk is something else, and we’re just one small part of it. It’s noisy, dusty, and always busy, but we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. We just keep going, day after day.
