Bharat Sweet House

Bharat Sweet House is located in Shalimar Bagh at AB-9. It’s a nice residential area, and we feel more like a part of the neighborhood than just a business. We don't have a big neon sign or anything too flashy. The shop is just a place where we make sweets and snacks every day. We start our work when the sun is barely up. We have to get the milk boiling and the dough kneaded. The staff we have are like family, and some have been here since we first opened the doors. We don't follow any corporate rules. If a regular customer is a few rupees short, we usually just let it go. That’s how things work in a place like Shalimar Bagh. We keep our counters filled with fresh barfi and pedas. The smell of cardamom is always lingering around the shop. Sometimes we sit on the stools out front when things are slow and talk to the neighbors about the weather or the news. We aren't trying to expand into a big chain. We like being right here at AB-9. Our boxes are simple and we wrap them with the same thin string we've always used. It’s a bit of an old-school way of doing things, but it works for us and the people who live around here. We just try to keep things clean and the food fresh every day. There is no real secret to it, just showing up and doing the work every day.
