Up on the third floor of the Administrative Building in the NSIC Complex, things stay pretty active. Being in Okhla Industrial Area, Phase-Lll, means there is always a truck or a delivery van nearby. Our office is in E-Block. It’s a big complex, and sometimes people get a bit lost trying to find the right entrance. We deal with a lot of testing and certification work, so there are always documents moving across desks. The air in Okhla has that specific industrial smell, which you stop noticing after a few months of working here. Our office isn’t particularly fancy; it’s mostly just rows of desks and people looking at computers or reading through standards. We have a small break area where the coffee isn't great, but it does the job on a Monday morning. The elevators can be slow when everyone is coming in at 9:00, so many of us just take the stairs to the third floor. It’s good exercise, I suppose. We spend our time going through data and making sure everything matches up with the rules. It’s quiet work for the most part, punctuated by the sounds of the industrial area outside. We don't really do much in the way of ceremonies or big events. We just focus on the tasks assigned to us for the day and try to leave on time. It is a steady, practical environment here at Tuv India within the NSIC complex.
