Solar Energy Society Of India (Sesi)

Our place is at A-14 in the Mohan Cooperative Industrial Estate. If you know Mathura Road, you know how the traffic can be a nightmare during rush hour. Solar Energy Society Of India (Sesi) is based right in the middle of all that activity. The building is a standard industrial block, nothing too special to look at from the outside. Inside, we have a lot of old journals and boxes of records stacked up. The air conditioner makes a rattling sound that we’ve just learned to ignore over the years. We spend a lot of time on the phone or responding to mail that comes in from all over. It’s a busy spot because there are so many other companies nearby. Sometimes we walk over to the local canteen for a quick bite if the work isn't too piled up. The windows look out over the parking lot which is always full of cars and delivery vans. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything. You just walk in and see people working at their desks. It’s a practical space for people who care about energy and tech stuff. We’ve had the same furniture for a long time and it shows. But it works for what we need. Most of us have been coming here for years so we know the local chai wallah and the postman pretty well. It feels like a small community even though it's a big industrial area.
