We’ve been here at Umiya Industrial Estate for quite a while now. Kapsi (B) is a busy spot on Bhandara Road, and being in units 8 and 9 means there’s always something happening. You’ll mostly find us dealing with machines and big sacks of ingredients. It gets loud and dusty, but that’s just how food production goes. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad, though the traffic on the main road can be a real headache some mornings. We don’t have fancy desks or a glass office. It’s mostly just concrete floors and the smell of whatever we’re processing that day. Sometimes it’s spices, sometimes it’s grains. We just try to get the orders out on time. The sun hits the front of the building pretty hard in the afternoons, making it hot inside, so we keep the big shutters open. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and moving stuff around. We know the other guys in the estate pretty well, and we help each other out when a truck gets stuck or someone needs a tool. It isn’t a glamorous job by any means. We show up, do the work, and head home. We’ve had some staff here for years, and they know the rhythm of the place. It’s just Waghmare Food Products, a local setup trying to stay busy and keep things running smoothly without too much fuss.
