Dayalu Dall & Oil Mill

Out on Kalamna Road at Plot 94 in the Eastern Industrial Area, you will find Dayalu Dall & Oil Mill. It is a heavy-duty kind of place. We deal with big loads of grain and seeds all day long. The smell of oil is pretty strong here, and there is always a fine layer of dust from the dal. Being in the industrial area means we have plenty of space, but it also means it is a long commute for some of us. The trucks come in loaded with raw materials and leave with finished bags. It is a lot of heavy lifting and keeping an eye on the presses. The machines are loud, so you have to yell a bit to be heard. We don't have a fancy air-conditioned office. We just have a small corner with a desk where we keep the books. Most of our time is spent on the mill floor. It is honest, hard work and we don’t pretend it’s anything else. We’ve got a system for everything, from the way we unload the grain to how we store the oil. It’s a dirty job sometimes, but someone has to do it. We just keep the mill running and make sure the orders are filled before the day is over. The Eastern Industrial Area can be a rough place, but it is where we belong. We keep our machinery oiled and our production moving forward.
