Navin Dal Mill

Navin Dal Mill is situated at 49 Garoba Maidan, very close to Ambedkar Chowk. It is a busy and loud place because the milling machines are running most of the day. We process various types of pulses and lentils here. The air is often filled with a fine dust from the milling, so we have to wear masks sometimes. The building is an old structure and it has a lot of history. We have been in this spot for many years and everyone in the area knows where we are. It is a very hands-on kind of business. We spend our time checking the quality of the grain and making sure the machines are working correctly. It is not a clean or quiet job. Our clothes usually have a bit of dust on them by the time we finish for the day. Ambedkar Chowk is always crowded, which means there is a lot of noise from the traffic outside. We don't have a reception area or a place for visitors to sit. Usually, people just come to the main gate to talk about their orders. We weigh the bags on big mechanical scales before they are loaded onto trucks. It is a simple operation without any of the fancy technology you see in newer factories. We just focus on doing a good job with the milling and keeping our regular customers happy.
