Wadhwani Impex

We run the daily operations of Wadhwani Impex right out of Flat No. 3 in Block A of the Prithvi Vandan Apartment complex. It is located in Ramdas Peth, which is a nice and central area to work from. It might seem a little bit unusual to some people to have an import and export business running out of an apartment building, but it actually works out quite well for us. It keeps our overhead costs low and allows us to focus more on the actual trading and logistics. The main room is mostly filled with filing cabinets and product samples, and there is almost always a kettle on the stove for tea. We spend a huge amount of our time on the phone or sitting at the computer, talking to people who are living in completely different time zones. Sometimes the important calls come in very late at night or early in the morning, and we just have to deal with that as it happens. We are a small team, mostly just family members or people we have known for so long they feel like family. We do not wear suits or act formal here; the atmosphere is very casual. Managing the shipping logistics can be a real struggle sometimes, especially when goods get delayed at the port or the documents have errors. We just take those problems as they come and try to find a solution. We have learned that the most important thing is just being honest.
