Om Sai Dal Mill

Om Sai Dal Mill is over at Plot No. 47 in the Vishva Sakha Colony. It’s pretty easy to find if you know where Vandana Boot Ho is, as we are right opposite that. We are also quite close to Kharnear Shakti Dairy. The area is usually busy with people going to the dairy or the shops nearby. We run the mill out of a fairly large space because the machinery takes up a lot of room. It’s a noisy place when the grinders are going. There is always a fine layer of dust on everything, no matter how much we sweep. We process the dal right here on the spot. We get the raw stock in and spend the day sorting and milling. It’s a family-run kind of place. You might see my kids running around or my wife helping with the books in the little corner we use as an office. We don't have any fancy marketing or a big sales team. Most of our customers are locals from Vishva Sakha Colony or businesses from the surrounding streets. We’ve been here at Plot 47 for a good number of years now. The equipment is old but it still works fine if you treat it right. Sometimes we have to stop and fix a belt or clear a jam. It’s just a normal part of running a mill. We just focus on getting the work done and making sure the bags are filled correctly.
