Our place is located near the big water tank in Yerkheda, Kamptee. It’s a familiar landmark for everyone around here. When you say the water tank, people know exactly where to go. We handle food products, so there is always a lot of activity with bags and containers being moved around. The air usually smells like whatever we are processing that day. It’s not a huge operation, but it keeps us on our feet from morning until the sun goes down. Working with food means you have to be careful and keep things clean, which is a lot of work when you’re in a dusty area like this. We have been in this spot for some time and have gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. The trucks come in to drop off raw materials and then we spend the rest of the time getting everything ready. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to sit and wait, which gives us a chance to talk and take a break. It's mostly family and local people working here. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertisements. People just know we are here by the water tank. It’s a simple setup. We focus on the daily tasks like filling orders and checking the quantity of the grains or whatever we have in stock. It’s hard work, but it’s honest, and it feels okay to be part of the local community in Kamptee.
