Jas Poha Mill is sitting on Plot No-P-88 out in Khedi Village. We are right along Tharsa Road in the Ahsan area. It’s a bit out of the way, but that works fine for a mill like ours. We take the raw rice and turn it into poha every day. The noise from the rollers is pretty constant from morning until evening. I took over the place from my father, and we still use some of the same methods he did. It’s a small village, so everyone knows who we are and what we do. We don't spend money on advertising because word of mouth around Ahsan is enough. Sometimes the Tharsa Road gets blocked up with tractors, which slows down our deliveries, but we just deal with it. The air inside the mill is always a bit white with dust. We have a few guys from the village who work with us on the machines. We try to keep things running smooth, though sometimes a belt snaps or something needs fixing. We eat our lunch outside under the trees to get away from the noise for a bit. It’s practical work. We produce the poha, bag it up, and send it off to the local markets. There’s no big secret to it, just keeping the machines fed and the quality consistent. We like being a local Khedi business and providing something people need every day for their meals. It's a loud job but we're used to it.
