Antuji Rice Mill

Antuji Rice Mill is over in Mahajanpura, located at No.-61 on Bhandara Road. We are right by the Shree Shitla Mata Mandir, so we often hear the bells and the people visiting the temple throughout the day. The mill itself is an old-school kind of place. It’s full of the sound of belts turning and the constant hum of the machinery. We spend our days processing the local harvest. There is a specific smell to a rice mill—a mix of dry earth and grain—that you never really lose. My clothes are always covered in a fine layer of dust by lunch time. We have to keep a close eye on the machines because if one part starts vibrating too much, the whole line can have issues. People from around Bhandara Road know us well since we've been at this No.-61 spot for a long time. It’s a very practical environment. We don't have air conditioning or fancy furniture, just the equipment we need to do the job. During the peak season, we are here from dawn until late at night just trying to keep up with the amount of paddy coming in. It’s hard on the back, but it’s the work we’ve always done. Mahajanpura is a good neighborhood, and we’re glad to be a part of the daily life here near the mandir, just doing our bit with the rice and keeping the mill going.
