Adirenuka Rice Mill

The mill is located on Ramgiri Road in the Oldabadi area. If you come by during the day, you will definitely hear the machines running loudly before you even see the gate. It is a noisy place, but that is just how a rice mill is meant to be. We deal with a lot of grain throughout the week. There are always bags of paddy stacked up high waiting to be processed into rice. The air usually smells like dried husks and fresh rice, which is something you get used to after a couple of days working here. We have a small team here at 4/5/41 who know how to handle the machinery when it gets temperamental or needs a fix. It is a lot of physical work, lifting heavy sacks and making sure the polishers are set right for the grain. Farmers come in with their trailers, and we spend a good chunk of time weighing everything and getting it sorted into piles. The building itself is an older one, but it does the job just fine for what we need. We don't spend much on decorations because the focus is always on the rice and the machines. Some days are much longer than others, especially during the harvest season when everyone wants their crop processed at the same time. We just keep our heads down and keep the machines moving. It’s a basic business, but rice is something everyone needs.
