St Philomenas Degree College

You can find us at No.30 in the New Banimantap Extension here in Mysore. St Philomenas Degree College is a place where things feel a bit more settled. Mysore has a different pace than bigger cities, and our neighborhood is no different. We have a good-sized building with several floors for the different departments. The classrooms have high ceilings and large windows, which helps during the warmer months. We don’t have fancy air conditioning everywhere, so we rely on the breeze and the fans. Our days are filled with lectures and students hanging out in the corridors between classes. The office is always a bit of a hub, with people coming in to check their schedules or ask for forms. We keep a lot of physical records, so there are shelves full of folders everywhere. It’s a very grounded kind of place. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just provide the space and the resources for the students to get through their degrees. The staff has a lot of experience, and many of us have been here for a decade or more. We see the students grow up over the three years they spend with us. It’s a predictable routine, from the morning bell to the time we lock up the gates in the evening. It’s just how we operate every single day and keep things going.
